INSTANT ACCESS BEGINS MAJOR SCAFFOLD INSTALLATION AT PORT WARATAH COAL

Newcastle, NSW - July 2025

Instant Access has commenced the staged installation of a 200 metre scaffolding system along the 7.03 conveyor belt at Port Waratah Coal Services in Newcastle. The structure plays a critical role in feeding coal directly to the site’s ship loaders.

To maintain operational continuity and minimise disruption, the scaffold is being installed in carefully sequenced phases. The project is expected to run for approximately six months, with completion scheduled for September 2025.

In response to the site’s complex access requirements and safety standards, Instant Access has deployed a team of experienced scaffolders. All team members are very familiar to operating in high-risk industrial environments, ensuring the scaffold meets the standards of compliance, safety and performance for PWCS.

The project is being led by Ben Franey, Senior Project Manager at Instant Access, who is overseeing all planning, logistics and on-site coordination. On-site coordination is being controlled by Carl Brooks, Project Manager at Instant Access

“This is a technical installation that requires careful sequencing and close collaboration with site operations,” said Ben Franey. “Our team is focused on delivering a safe and efficient outcome while supporting the ongoing functionality of Port Waratah’s critical infrastructure.”

This installation marks another example of Instant Access’ ability to deliver complex, large-scale scaffolding projects with accuracy and reliability, supporting the long-term success of Australia’s critical infrastructure networks.
